Lots of Changes

I have a lot to catch you up on! Last time I wrote, I was a PhD student living partly in Bedfordshire and partly in Liverpool whilst my husband patiently waited for me to finish my studies so that I could move to Virginia to be with him. Since then, I had a car crash and ended up in hospital for a good while. I found out I'm pregnant, quit the PhD and am now applying for my visa to move to the US. So it's all go over here! There's more to update you on but I'm up to my nose in boxes at the moment, trying to sort out my room and pack everything I don't need. I'll write back soon!

I'm new to this blogger thing and I'm just about learning the basics of HTML etc (I modified the layout myself and I'm very proud! *pats back*) So please bear with me if something looks amiss!

Morning meeting fun!

I've just had a meeting with my new supervisor. To catch you up, my other supervisor is retiring so I need a new one for the last yr of my PhD. I was really pleased that he'd agreed to come on board - it was either him or a little chiuaua of a man who's bite was definitely worse than his bark! So I was really looking forward to today's meeting. Well, he turned up a little late and stinking of alcohol!! He told me that the project is fundamentally flawed and that he didn't see the point in half of it! Ugh, the next year's going to be fun...

HelloSonia is dead, long live The Queen of Everything!

Well, here it is, my shiny new blog. As much as I loved the old one, it was a little too public and well known for my liking – I couldn’t be quite as candid as I’d like to be.  At the moment I’m still trying to get a feel for everything, Blogger’s quite different to MSN and it’s going to take some getting used to!
